Opening your doors to a homestay student is a great way to introduce new culture and information into your family's life. It is also a fantastic way to increase the income of the household. Before you admit a homestay guest though, it would be wise to prepare your home for him or her. After all, you do not want the student to feel uncomfortable and leave earlier than expected, right?

Therefore, the first thing you need to do is prepare a room for the homestay guest. This room should be able to provide the student with a sense of privacy. This is because your guest will have to adjust to the new environment first, and a private sanctuary where the student can fully relax will help a great deal. Aside from this, make sure that the room for your coming homestay guest is comfortable. Try to improve the bed, beddings, and decorations in the room. Make sure as well that the lighting is good and that surrounding noise is reduced. Aside from this, place in the room a study area, because the guest would be coming there to learn after all.

It would not hurt either to make the rest of your house better. A clean place would do wonders to make your homestay guest feel at ease. Plus, if the student comes to like your place, he or she will surely recommend you to others once the homestay period is over. This would mean more culture injection into your home and more business for you!
